Caroola Group places inside the Top 15 for the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2024
July 29, 2024The Turing Trust, a global charity providing IT resources and training to schools in Africa, Asia, and the UK, has shipped 1,333 computers to schools in Kenya with support from Caroola Group.
Caroola has donated all unused computers and IT equipment to the charity so it can refurbish and distribute them across Kenyan schools, helping children gain access to technology and develop digital skills.
William Bellinger-Smith, Donations Coordinator at the Turing Trust said: “Donations like this make a huge difference as they allow us to provide valuable resources, that would otherwise go to waste, to those who need it most.”
The Turing Trust was founded in 2009 by the family of Alan Turing, the English mathematician and computer scientist who cracked the Enigma Code during World War Two.
Will continued: “With support from businesses like Caroola, as well as our partnership with Habitat for Humanity, the Thika Alumni Association, and the Red Rubber Ball Foundation, we now setting up IT labs in dozens of schools worldwide, providing students with access to digital learning for the very first time. We also train teachers in digital pedagogy, networking, and IT maintenance, maximising both the social impact and the lifespan of all donated equipment.”
